What if your sauced friend had hit and killed someone? Your the kind of person that complains about his high insurance, then goes out, gets tanked, and drives his sled or car around

I would only go on little bays aeound here. I was on smaller lakes last week, and they were al ittle scary in the middle, I can't imagine what they would be like after all this mild weather. Just be careful, and don't be suprised if the ice is scary thin.

see you go on water too the only thing i did was go a little too slow!! !!!! im not saying i wont do it again but this time ill be going faster ans as far as driving drunk i wasnt!! i would never get plastered and drive!

actually, Like Isaid, this area/lake is BARE, the place he was in is litterly 1 block from his house. NO one around, we are not that stupid..

You are confusing, stupid with crazy.. Mistake.

there is a differnece between the two.

oh and b4 making a blanket judgement like that, I could counter with what if the tree was another rider coming the other way?

Anyone who is willing to drive drunk, and then call it harmless fun simply shouldn't be driving. That attitude is beyond stupid. That attitude is what gets people killed. If anyone dies because of your actions, could you live with that? Now I'm not saying that if you've driven drunk you should never drive again, but if you see that as fun I hope for your sake and everyone around you's sake that you get pulled over drunk and have your license taken away. Because sober mistakes aren't worse than drunk ones. At least if you were sober you weren't asking for it. And no excuse? There's no excuse for drunk accidents either. There's just stupidity and blatant disregard for the lives of other people.

I guess the term SARCAISM is lost in the translation.....

I never said it was OK, nor that being DRUNK was ok, I said going in the water at the time was fun.

I also have to assume then, that you live in a glass house with no stones around then either?

Being drunk or not drunk I would still do the exact same thing.

It sounded kinda like you guys thought the drunk part was no problem or something. Nothing wrong with having fun, but I know people missing a parent because of a drunk driver, so if I go overboard and sound like a jackass when someone says they've been driving drunk, I would take that over staying quiet any day. Because deaths and injuries related to drunk driving are preventable.

alkurth and dennis--- you need to have atleast 200 posts on here before everything you say isn't concidered stupid... although i do not drink and ride/drive, i've had to many close calls sober, there is a legal blood alchohol level, and if you weren't passed that no one should be jumping on you like they are, especially concidering the situation... a well known area, with a known depth, within very close proximity to your house; if you were ever going to do anything """"stupid"""" would that not be the perfect place to do it? i think so.

i'm not attacking the sledcrew kids in anyway, as what they do is fine by me but some people would concider jumping sleds "stupid" and yet they are constantly praised on here for their video's and pictures. why is that? someone can die just as easy by jumping as they can by skipping 6 ft. of 2 ft. deep water. but i don't see anyone on their soapbox telling them that. should everyone just get on a 300 cc fan and "enjoy the scenery"?

No, jumping is different. In most cases your risking your own life, and taking precautions not to hurt yourself. Your not getting sh*t faced, and riding around on thin ice (he must have known it was thin since he starting a thread asking about water crossings). I really don't care if this guy sunk his sled, that was his own actions causing his own consequences. However his attitude towards drinking and driving is quite disturbing.

No your closed, narrow minded attitude is disturbing.

My comments wer not ment to say drinking and driving was OK, if you read I have stated that that was the STUPID part.

Personaly, taking my hand off the handle bar when I KNOW I can not see without first HITTING the BRAKE is stupid. You are lucky it was only a tree, so it was a one way trail, what if one of the other 9 guys had stopped suddenly for any reason, you could have hit him.

See? Just about any remark can be taken and phrased as a insult.

And no where do I recall him saying he was **** faced drunk, I thinka liuttle to much to drink was the wording. Any time you have more then 2 drinks you are basicly over the limit in the states and therefor, as far as the ruling class goes, to drunk to drive. How many times have you stop riding while out there and told your buddies, "Hey we cant leave for another hour since I have drank more then two beers."?

Further, like I said, wtih him, and myself when I put mine in the channel, the alchohl was not teh factor, as we would and do the same things stone sober.

I think this was a bit of a misunderstanding or something. The people who were concerned with this were concerned with the drunk part. Which everyone agrees is stupid. The water crossing/jumping etc stuff isn't the issue. That's all stuff that can be done with a certain degree of safetly for everyone. Shichyea, I don't know how you figure that you need to have a lot of posts on here before you're not considered stupid. I think the stupid part comes from that subject that's been beaten to death by now: the drunk part. So let's all have our fun and get along at the same time?
