Snow Force LED install/wiring/pics

Well I finally stopped screwing around with my little tiny LEDs that i had and bought some nice red SnowForce LEDs. This is a great product and I highly recommend them and only them to anyone looking to accent their sled. I am VERY pleased to say the least with the service and the quality of the product, well worth the price at $32 per light (Comes with all wiring, mounting screws, and fuses).

The install

I installed one on either side of my running boards just about where my feet would be (about 1.5 foot back from each stirrup).

I ran those wires up the underside of the running board and then brought them up in behind the stirrup.

Followed them along the clutches and then tied them into my other wiring up where the speedo cable comes down off the hood.

The other light is on the belly pan just behind the front shocks, this mounted to the belly pan and the wires came through the pan right into where the other wires ran. This takes care of the clutch side of my sled.

On the other side I mounted the LEDs in the same place as the other side. Ran the wiring similarly but these wires converge over by the chaincase where my on/off switch is located. I wired these into the existing wires I had coming out of my switch.

Things to watch out for
When running the wires along the clutches, make sure there is no way for the wire to get caught in either clutch, that would get ugly in a hurry.
Make sure to solder all connections and seal them with tape as to protect them over time.
Watch out running wires by the exhaust, it gets VERY hot as you well know I am sure and make sure that the wire will not melt.

Now the pics

Running off a battery in this pic, not at completion.

Done, running off the engine.

I will take more if we ever get snow to ride on, they will look much better reflecting off the snow I am sure.

Purchased at www.streetforceleds.com

R u kidding me? They are so tough and I know ppl who ride Sno-X hard and have not had 1 issue. Plus they have a lifetime guarantee against those kind of mishaps. But you can have your opinion.

i take great care of my machine, but i dont put put down the trail. i ride and i ride hard sometimes, like this season, low snow conditions, there are rocks, sticks, and stumps, you just have to ride. my friend bent a drive shaft on a rock last weekend, just hit it right, never seen that before, but it happens. gotta go riding now. have fun

Note to self... "Never buy a used sled from upersleder"

Lights look great daktruckie99!!! Are these LED arrays, or single LEDs? Where did you get them?

One of the guys I ride with snapped his drive shaft into 2, didn't even hit anything, just a faulty part I guess.
The bottom sleds do take some abuse, but I think he'll be fine. Those lights are pretty much flat and very durable.

I dont have a battery on my sled, it was just a battery from our lawn mower that I used, it just sat on the running board in those pics. When wired into the engine I just ran them off my accessory switch that my handwarmers used to run off when I had them, easy as pie to wire in.
