Any info on Quebec tours?

Anyone done a Quebec tour? Myself/wife were talking about doing that or a northern Maine tour in Feb or March. I found a cool site for Maine, but anyone got any info on Quebec province?

heres a map to give u an idea.

where the red arrow is, is the place.. u see that big lake beside it? thats lake st-john, now ALOT trails go there and all around it.. it's a 120 miles ( maybe more) to go around it with hotels and motels everywhere.. oh and restaurants too.. and bars for the ones who would ask

there are villages all around and there and people are friendly.

even in other cities like quebec and montreal we are known for that.. (dont ask why) were also known for party and booz drinking... (again, don't ask why)

i got a holliday inn hotel 2 minutes from where i live and they got guarded parkings for sleds and of course, IS reachable by trails from the back.

if you really wanna have big fun,. the carnaval is in in quebec city, THAT is complete party... parades for kids music everywhere, ice and snow sculptures, and caribou.. not the animal.. the drink
also known barrel juice in french....and i'm not tralking 40% alcool here...

if i find a pic valin mountains, i'll post it here..

they cost alot... well 200$ CDN

but when youre from another club, like inthe USA or ontario, you dont need to buy it i think... if you had to buy it in order to ride here and you already bought one it wouldn't be very inviting for tourism now wouldn'tt

i didin't buy it in the last few years as i dont have enough time to ride all weekend ( work work work)

200$ isn't too bad. Ontario is 230$ after dec 1st. So will SEG have to buy temp permits if he goes riding there?

no he shouldn't, one time, i was in a sled gathering and there was a guy from illinois or soemthing near that, i saw he was not from canada by the sle colours,.. he had a special edition indy 500.. with gold coloured tunnel, blue/white hood... really a nice guy. i spoked with him a few hours and i dont remember being told he had to pay for addition permits to drive in trails here.

i'll ask around at the office if you need a permit or not.

Though the annual trail permit is 200$, 40$ of that is insurance, and if you are already insured, you can send a them a form and have that insurance cancelled and refunded, so it's 160$. A weekly pass is 140$, but I don't know how the insurance would work with that.

Though like fr0st, I don't know how it works if you already have a permit somewhere else. You might want to shoot the FCMQ an email about that.

Haven't heard much about any tours either.

Oh and BTW, I'm from a small city 15min north of Quebec City. We've had a bit of rain yesterday but temperatures should back to normal in the next few days (I hope). We still have a nice 2 feet of snow though.

i find it totally outrageaous that FCMQ will charge someone from the USA who comes here to visit when he has payed already a fee to go into clubs trails in his state/area..

prices..

200 $ for a annual trail permit
250 $ for a annual trail permit sold on trail*
140 $ for a 7 day trail permit
50 $ per day for a daily trail permit
350 $ for a annual trail permit for snowmobiles used by rental companies

people come here in order to have fun and visite... they spend already enough on gas and hotels... thats not good for tourism...
imagin someone who speds a week here which cost "mucho pesos", having to get a permit for a week which cost 140$.. for 60$, you get the whole thing for a year... who's stupid enough not to pay it for a year since the price si not far off.., so to begin with, without adding gas and hotels and food in restaurants and beer( occasions may come around) you start off with a 200$ fee which i find harsh.. FCMQ sucks..

it's like i have a morotrcycle and i would need a special permit in order to go to bike week in daytona.. it would suck.

im calling them tomorrow to be sure.. if it is true i will be most appaled by it.

Funky, where ya from?

Man! Thanks for the info! On the map you put there, I'm in Nh, by the second "o" in Concord. Helluva drive to you, huh? That looks like BEAUTIFUL country up there. Let me know about the permit. I have a club membership in NH, as well as a State reg.

SEG,

even if the permit would be 200$ CDN/172.69 USD
, it would be but a fraction of how much $$ yer gonna spend in gas anyways..

i'll try to phone tomorrow and keep you posted.

either way, i think you better to go to quebec for now, the quebec carnival is one heck of a party.

and alot less of a ride.. but if youre up to it, lemme know

its 120 miles of trail from quebec in total forest.. with a restaurant halftway for gas and such.( gas cost a fortune there)
