Winter just started! It's not over!

Okay well i got to thinking today, and i realized something. We are all *****ing and complaining about the weather because it's january and i'm walking around in a t-shirt. But winter only started not even 3 weeks ago. There's plenty more to come. It can't be 5 degrees above zero the entire winter, and when it does cool down we're going to get dumped on (hopefully). So lets all just go out to the garage, wax the sleds and wait for this crap to be over with. I guess my message is to you guys who are getting discouraged. DON'T, it's not over! There's plenty more to come!

Uhm, just cause WINTER isnt over, doesnt mean the cold weather isnt over.... we only have like a month left, plus, its supposed to be warm for atleast another week. by then, even if it does snow, the ground wont be frozen, so we would need like 3 feet for it to hang around. this winter is shot

Winter has a way of averaging itself out.
You know we are going to get a couple of make up storms before it's over.
Maybe one of those years when we'll be doing most of our riding well into March.
Until then, put your suit and helmut on, sit on your machine with the Garage door open, wait and be ready.

One year for March break we went up to my cottage about 200 kms (120 mi) northeast of Toronto.
We have to snowmobile 8 miles to get to the cottage because the road becomes a trail in the winter.
Saturday was one of those days you talk about for years. The sun was out, the temp was high 40F, we sat aroung a fishing hole with our tee shirts on cause the sun was so bright. Actually got a little sun burnt. Trails were still in pretty good condition.
That night it started to rain hard, the next morning the lake looked like it had no ice as the snow was gone.
We had to ride out in the pouring rain, by the time we got back to the parking lot, we were virtually riding in mud. Never seen trails go bad so fast.
Whenever we talk snomobiling we still say "remember that year when."
Think I'll start a new thread for memorable experiences.

I'm actually in the Haliburton Forest, have been there 17 years.
One of the best places in Ontario to ride.
Surely you've been there.

I actually don't mind the weather because I don't have to fire up the propane heater to fix my sled

i went dirtbiking today, i find it unusual to have to dig a friends 4 wheeler out of a mud hole the bikes went through..............on january 12th. it was a high of 59*F today.

after thinking about it, the first week or two we can generally ride. none after that though.

apprently the weather man said febuary and march are gonna be snowy, this is what my dad told me. I guess we can only hope.
