'02 zl 550 esr won't start no spark?

2002 ZL 550 esr won't start no spark. Coil tested good?

Did you use a spark tester? Unhook the key/kill/tether switches to be sure it's not one of those. If still no spark, CDI.

02 zl 550esr no spark?

thanks for the help. down to the cdi or the stator. does any one know how to test the cdi. what should the readings be???

The stator should be a low ohm reading. Not sure what wires, though.

You can't test a CDI. only OHM a stator.

Did you unplug the 4 way and test? then jump the brown/black?

Pretty much the only way to test a cdi is to measure the dc voltage output. The cdi converts ac voltage to dc voltage, tells the spark when to spark and sends the spark to the secondary coils. You have to have a special dc voltage gauge to read output voltage from the cdi due to the fact that the voltage is so "fast" that a normal multimeter can't read it. Out of your whole ignition suystem, the LEAST likely to fail is the CDI. 99 out of 100 times there is another issue from bad coils to bad stator to bad ground to broken/loose wires, bad trigger coil, sheared timing key (when a sled is running bad) ect.. before there is ever a bad cdi. On EFI's their ECU can go bad.

This is how you test a stator and a pulse/trigger coil. Also, check for loose wires, broken wires and bad grounds:
