anybody whos a speed freak that end up on a highway with a R1 is like a 10 yr old with his first engine powered bike..

a old friend of mine,a speed freak about cars... when i had my gsxr he wanted to try it out.. he doesnt even have a bike permit but knows how to shift gears on one.. he had a few small dirt bike when younger, i let him try it out in the neiborhood... first thing he did when trying it is taking the highway ramp and he floored it till 130... he got back half an hour later.. i was VERY mad at him... for 1- getting out of the neiborhood 2- taking the bike to that speed in broad daylight in traffic 3- for not using one f*cking once of his brain about WHAT COULD have happened if he crashed it.. let alone hurt or killed himself and to top it off, not thinking about his 1 year old girl when doing this...

hsi girlfriend wanted to kill him and so did i... it was the LAST time he drove ANY of my vehicules, and it was the last time it would ever touch a bike with a engine on it.. ever.. to his girlfirends request...

so.. if HE can be that stupid, i imagine there must be others.. who dont have GF's to stop them, who have the RIGHT permit, and the money to buy such a crouch rocket.... now imagine that with nothing to stop you from being stupid.... i hear a stop sign colision in my head, i dunno why.

some people have that writen on the forehead and thre ain't nothing you can do to change them..

but the stupidest of all was me.. letting him talk me inot it from the beginning.

Im fairly certain manufactures of motorcycles set the speedos up from the factory with a 5 mph or more difference. My 02 honda interceptor is a nice touring bike but can get up and move if I want it to, but the speedo was 5 off stock. Same was true with the CBR I owned before it. Pretty common pattern in my opinion.

i doubt they would set the speedo 5 off on purpose. it may be true that there 5 or more off, just not on purpose.

it may be a coinsidence. Pretty ****ty that I can drop nearly 10 grand on a bike that was paid great attention to detail in other places then droped the ball on getting the stock drivetrain settings off with the speedo setting. Damn You Honda
