Gettin Sick of IT

Well the first snowfall came in with a bang back in 5th or so of December dropping 12 inches. But since then, I have not scene more than 1 inch of snow that only followed after an inch of rain. I still have about a scattered 2 inches of snow left. I haven’t gone riding since the 1th or so of December. About 10 days or so after the first big storm it’s been rain. About 4 inches of rain or so. If these storms tapped an extra 5 degrees colder, that would have been some 40inches of snow. That’s what’s happening to people here in New England. These storms that ride up the East Coast, or grabbing to much moisture with them, and giving most of us rain, while the foothills and mountains are getting some snow. The only reason why the mountains have plenty of snow for skiers is because its been consistently cold to make snow. The only place that has been getting snow is Aroostook County with over 40 inches.

But I got faith that all of sudden, just like last year, after the first week of January, that these storms are going to be snow. But I have taken advantage of this time, and have brough both of the sleds down to the shop and got them all fixed up once and for all, there tracks, belts, bogies are all set, and so when it does snow, I can finally rip the trails up without the tracks slipping.

Believe me when I say we are praying for snow for our MI. RIDE.
Mouse has been doing snow dances and lawn angles for a week now. Heck he even picked the oil caps from his tree and planted them along the trails. Pray the snow gods give us snow, or we'll be stuck at Mouse's house with toothless women and hamburger helper.

Yeah, we've really been getting the sh*ts, as it's always like 1-2 degrees celcius, and it rains 3mm or so every day. It's killed all the early snow for us, too.

Yeah But I got hope...I just want to ride. I need all the snow i can get just so the field isnt so bumpy. Now that its gone, whatever snow we get now is gong to be useless until about 10 inches are on the ground, thats when i can angle the sled just right to get going 50-60

Same in CNY, had some early Dec snow but lost most of it coming into Jan. We are now in a pattern of 1 inch of snow, 1 inch of rain, alternating. It is finally starting to head the other way though. We seem to have the makings of a very good base now and with what may be coming thru the weekend and early next week in certain areas south of the Thruway and well north in the Adirondacks we may get some good riding in.

The weather really had everyone thinkin it was going to start early. Maine had snow oin mid October, and New York was getting pounded my lake effect, but now all of a sudden, we are just looking at our sleds

Apparently Northern Ontario is in for above average temperatures for the rest of the winter I'm betting it's because we had such a brutally hot summer, the Great Lakes are warmer than normal, and so they're warming us up big time now.

At least I don't feel too bad about no snow now, I have to fix my sled. I finally got the remains of the clutch off yesterday and now need to order a new one and a carb boot that was cracked through.

As of now for S.W. Ont., they are calling for three days above 7 degrees celcius, then it's just going to PLUMMET, and I mean, from 8 to -2 overnight, then dropping steadily to -12 in 4 days, but I don't know how that'll turn out, as it's nearly 2 weeks away. I'm just hoping...

Yeah I got 3.5 inches yesterday, enough to make the landscape look beatiful, but not enough to protect the sleds from the ground below
