Scorpion Whip 440 ...good enough for ice feeshing..?

New to the site and love.

I know some of you folks out there are hardcore speedfreaks, and some arent. Dont want to generalize. And I like it, nothing like going fast.

My needs are different, so my search has been focused on the simple, reliable sleds of old. Love the john deere liquifires and scorpian whips. So simple, so basic.

Anyone run into problems finding adequate replacement parts?

I am looking to prevent a heart attack from pulling my shanty 2+ miles one way. Sled sure would be nice. Working on getting the deere running, but came across a low mileage scorpion in decent shape, other than the sheave getting cracked today.

Any thoughts?

Thanks mucho

Thumbs up

Just bought a 440 Scorpion whip from the neighbor. Been in the garage awhile. Original owner. 1300 miles. Decent shape. Runs ok. Compression 118/120. Could use a tuneup I figure.

Monkeyed with the sheave and got it to work. Still needs replacing.
