Looking to buy a sled to go ice fishing, pull a fish hut and generally ride on the river (slush!) or though the bush. Not really looking to ride groomed trails right now.

Considering 2006 Skandic 550 fc sled and Bear Cat 570 fc sled. Bear cat has 2 yr warranty. Both are about the same price.

Heard there were reliability issues with AC machines. Any thoughts?

Personally I would go with the skandic. That's what a lot of ice fishermen around here ride and they love them.

Go for the Skandic "SUV" - it'll give you a good front suspension and better handling. Go for the 600 if you want for speed a bit of performance. The 600 has over 100 HP and the 550 fifty-something.

I'd say skandic also, on simcoe there are tons of them out by the fishing huts. Very very good sled.

i bleed green but the skandic is an impresive sled. buddy had a 500 a few years ago and it ran awsome.

the skandics are tough sleds. should be a good sled for your needs.
