Sorry, should have specified, registration and insurance is a lump sum, so its $700 for plates and registration. In Sask its all one, no separate insurance.

Yep thats right. Our insurance is run by a goverment agency called SGI, basically govern the whole transportation system in Saskatchewan. When you go to put your vehicle on the road you go retailer and purchase "plates" for the vehicle. With the plates come the vehicles registration and an insurance policy. The most commonly choosen policy covers the person with either $1000000 dollar liability or $5000000 I can't remember which. As well it covers the vehicles contents (mostly) and the vehicle itself. However in order to recieve insurance repair to must pay a $700 deductible. For instance, I was driving my truck and I hit a cow (killed it too). Smashed the front of the truck all to hell. Took it to the adjuster, $6000 damage to the truck. Payed them $700 bucks, and the truck got fixed. So in the end it only cost me $700 to fix the truck. Theres also other policies such as the "package policy" which basically lowers your deductible to $200 dollars but ups the price of plates for your vehicle.

what about yourself? what happens if you crash your truck and get hurt and rip your clothes, and can't go to work coze you have been hurt bad and will miss your job for 3 months.. and you hurt your back bad enough that it will be permanent and you cannot work anymore..
will the insurance covert you for that? i mean will you receive a compensation every month?
a guy i know was in a bad car crash and his back is game over and cant work anymore... he gets 1500$ every month for being a disabled person... for life...
i can see this is quite diffrent from a province to another... my bike cost 950$ insured and 330$ for registration,in manitoba would be 2400... wow..

Depnds on what job you have I guess. Workers Compensation is probably your best bet for coverage. Or if your company has its own insurance agency which handles those type of situations. I have no knowledge of insurance covering your clothes. If I were in an accident that involved ripping up my clothes I would just be thankful I am still alive and take the clothes as a loss.
"In Saskatchewan, all residents can choose the auto injury insurance coverage that’s best for them. You have a choice between No Fault Coverage or Tort Coverage
No Fault Coverage provides a basic package of benefits that will cover the majority of your expenses, if you’re injured. If someone else is found responsible for the collision, No Fault Coverage allows you to sue for additional expenses. It does’t allow you to sue for pain and suffering, except in very limited circumstances.
No fault means you receive comprehensive benefits no matter who’s responsible for the collision, but your right to sue for pain and suffering is very limited.
Tort Coverage provides a basic package of benefits that will cover some of your expenses if you’re injured. If someone else is found responsible for the collision, Tort Coverage allows you to sue for additional expenses and for pain and suffering.
Tort means being held legally responsible for your actions. In auto injury coverage, it means you have the right to sue those responsible for your additional expenses and for pain and suffering. "
Thats taken from SGI website. www.sgi.sk.ca
PS Liability coverage is not $500,000 or $1,000,000, its actually $200,000

wow, thats waaaaay diffrent than here... atleast the your provincial goverment doesn't steal that money and put it's somehwere else... here they say we are not giving enough but they had billions and put them somehwere else.. now the accounts are empty... and we have to pay for it.
here, if you fall on a mortorcycle and rips out your coat, boots and helmet, you go to a dealer and buy new stuff and send this to the SAAQ Quebec insurance society and they refund you in FULL..up to 2000$ which i think is the stupidest way to get screwed..
u just need to know a dealer and he can make a FALSE receit saying you bought a full leather suit with a SHOEI helmet for 1500$ and you will get the money.
they give a chance for people to screw them and what do people do? they screw them... so in the end we have to pay because SOME made some abuse torward this.
it also applies for ANY accident involving a car ona bike , motorcycle.. even if your walking and get run over by a car - truck ect ect..
i find this so lame...
and to top it off, we have nofault only, you can't sue ANYONE about ANYTHING.. even you get hit by a drunk driver.. for that i suggest to kick him in the teeth if you can still walk before the cops show up... coze they take his license away and put in him jail for 24 months or less and he'll do 1/6 of his time and be out..
and you lose a leg or something else in an accident and that f*cker is out without any problems.. a few months later..
so basically it sucks
