Oooh, any damage??
Once my sister was turning right and it didn't grab to turn. She stopped and was facing toward a pine tree, then she hit the gas thinkin that would make it better. Ended up breakin the windshield on it.

Years ago my wife drove an ovation.
To warm it up, I just lifted the rear end with one arm and opened the gas to let the track free wheel.
I had gloves on and when I let go of the gas and set the rear end down, the glove stuck in the accelerator and away the machine went, I was still holding onto the handle so I got dragged down off my lot and onto the lake and a couple hundred yards across the lake before I got the glove out. Stood up and checked the area around me, luckily no one saw me I think.

man i have done alot of bone headed stuff. the one thing that still stands out to this day is my dads old 1973 340 massy, i was booting around my yard had the sled topped out( not very fast on that old thing ) and the throtle stuck wide open and the kill switch didnt work i was headed for trees so i bailed. the old massy hit a 5inch tree flilped around the tree and landed in the ditch, got stuck in the snow, and all we could hear was it redlining. me and my buddy got to it shut it down, looked over it and there wasnt even a scratch on it.

some hilarious storys on here, bunch of us went up to montreal river which is along highway17N and were riding around the powerlines and the river itself. We came to a big gravel pit along the side of the river (so it seemed anyways) my one senseless buddy playing around and launchin his xcsp800 off some of the smaller banks, came flyin along, i just so happened to stop and watch him. He does a pass to see how high he was, which was about 7ft to the snow below, guns it and hits the snow perfect only to find out there was flowing stream under it. busts threw the ice, blows the front of his cowling off ,broke the hindge,(still latched at the back) and stops dead. Luckly it was only 1 ft deep at that spot and we just laughed as his sled sits there banged up in the water. But it just looked like a snowpacked ravine, good thing it happened to him and not me!!

I didn't damage a sled but it sure scared the F*** out of me. My brother and I built a deck type lofting system for our spare garage. We have a spare two car garage that is 1.5 cars deep. My Mom got fed up with the number of sleds my brother, GF, and I own. (5). Well, I built this loft system with discounted lumber. 3x3 green treated boards. This thing was tough. I built it 4 feet tall so you can put 3 sleds under, two on top. Well, I built a ramp to put the sleds on top. First sled to go was one I got for free, incase it fell. Well, got it up fine. Took my GFs sled and got stuck on the ramp. Well, I canned on it and I have never had a sled pull a wheelie so high as I was going up to a level of 4 feet on a 6 foot ramp. It was steep. I got to the top, slammed the brakes and came crashing down. Luckily, my deck system held! The GF still doesnt know! :-) The deck turned out sweet. I highly recommend it.

Sounds like a good system! And why is it that guys always beat the S*** out of their girlfriend's sleds???
The most bone-headed thing I've done was try to be a copycat. It was my second season riding, and we were out on the home trails (south central WI). We were bringing it in after a long day of riding, and the trailers were all parked at a sports (trapshooting) club. Since the parking lots had been plowed, there were all these banks to go over. First guy goes over, fine. Then his wife goes over (slowly), fine. Second guy - who has probably been riding for 25+ years - jumps the thing, fine. What do I do? Decide I can jump it too.
So I peg the throttle, but right at the last minute, I get a little scared and back off. My sled starts going to the left, I start going to the right. Not good. I managed to hang on, but boy did she come down hard. My boyfriend just laughed at me & told me if I'm gonna do it, I have to follow through - no pussin' out in the middle!

one time i accidentally left my 340 enticer in my backyard with my friends + a video camera. they disconnected the key and the kill switch and zip tied the throttle and then they started it up and it was heading for this hill so it would launch over the fence but instead it veered off and smashed into a tree. but i pulled it out and it still ran there was only a huge dent in the front and a hole in the exhaust

Wow, these are some unbelievably funny stories.
My buddy was stuck in a ditch on his Skidoo (no reverse) so he yells up to the house for his cousin to come down and help him pull it out. His cousin stumbles down to the ditch absolutely sh*tfaced then prcoeeds to use his drunk strength to rip the tow bar clean off the back of sled! My buddy's cousin looks at the tow bar he ripped off and says "Man...they don't make em like they used to" tosses it in the snow and stumbles back into the house with my buddy and his sled still stuck in the ditch! I was ROFL when he told me that story

I loaded the sleds in my flip top trailer and forgot to tie mine down. It was a 96 zrt600.MINT CONDITION!!! Every time I would stop I would here a tiny "THUD".When We got home from this 100 mile trip. I opened the trailer and found that tiny thud I heard was the nice shiny hood slamin in to a crossbar on the frame of the flip top. I felt like a jacka$$ and was very pi$$ed off. What can you do
YOU CAN TIE THE SLED DOWN MORON.........THATS WHAT YOU CAN DO.............

Feb.07 I filled my sled with gas and oil in our garage when my riding buddy pulled up ready to hit the trail.I jumped on my 550 clssic and took off, about 1-2 miles down the trail my sled lost all power. I felt stupid when we found the rag I was using to wipe off the oil filler got sucked into the fan and caused the sled to heatup. Needless to say from now on I make sure I don't be so careless. How's that for stupidity?

Honest, this wasn't me but I witnessed this at a mountain sledding area parking lot. That's what they all say, right.
Anyway, this guy decides for some reason to let his girlfriend load her sled onto the sled deck on the back of his pickup. The decks an 8ft deck with a pretty steep ramp. She looks nervous, I venture to guess she's never done this before. She nails the throttle and hits the ramp at about mach 6. She clears the deck, and lands the sled on the roof and hood of the pickup. Just a tad late on the brake.....She's still sitting pretty on her ride, looking like she's really accomplished something. The Dude showed incredible control. With the help of another witness they pull the sled off the hood and he proceeds to load it himself. Why he didn't let her try again, I don't know. Looked to me like she was just getting the hang of it! Practice makes perfect, right.
As for myself, I've never done anything stupid on my ride.....really........what.....okay, I'm still in therapy and having difficulty talking about it!
Happy Trails Y'all.

some of these are way to funny!!!
my favorite is the one about the drunk guy comming out to help, and he ripps the rear handle off the sled LOL
anway - a year or two ago, my mom was tagging along with my dad and i...she was riding on my dads 2-up. well, my dad let her drive for a while (as a side note, my dad an i both have the chatter box radios)...as we were riding to a look out point i decided to go "off trail" up the hill to get up there. well, my mom followed (and she is somwhat inexperienced), as they were comming up all of a sudden i hear in the chatter box my dad cussing and swearing like crazy. two seconds later my mom comes over the crest of the hill...but my dad wasnt on the sled...i run over to my mom and ask "where's dad???" she was like "isnt he on the back!"...i was like NO...moments later my dad comes walking up the hill...lets just say that was the last time she drove the sled with my dad on the back...LOL.

Here is one I should not admit but you WILL learn from it. I was on my GF's sled (See My Garage) and I was tuning it up, cleaning clutches, etc. Well, I drive it out to my back yard in the cold and to do a WOT test. It ran great on the stand. Mind you, I am sitting with my left leg on the foot rest and my right knee on the seat. Well, I canned it, pulled a wheelie. All of a sudden the left handlebar grip came off. The sled has ATV warmers so the heat element is not attached. Well, it was slow motion of it coming off, and me trying to let off of the gas and to hang on for dear life with my right hand. As I hit the ground, :-), I barrel rolled a few times and just layed there for a moment to sense if I had any pain. The sled stopped with no damage. My brother witnessed it and came running. My brother was laughing his @$$ off once he found out I was okay. The first thing my GF asked was, "Is my sled okay?" I'm important, I know!
The grip WILL NOT come off now! Let this be a reminder. Check those grips! Make sure they are on snuggly!
