Talking do i have a chance?

my neighbor wants me to give him a race. problem is , is his sled is a polaris 700 think '02 and my sled is a 99 500 cat clutched.
his is totally stock and would love to give him a run for his money so to speak. Any ideas as to the best way to put up a fighting chance?

It depends a lot on rider weights and traction. I bet you will be surprised how close the race is as long as you don't get into long distances. Theoretically you shouldn't beat him because of the 200cc difference, so you always can fall back on that if you lose. But then again, if you spank him, you should have a lot of bragging rights.

Is his studded? If not stud yours, lighten it any way you can. Get a light weight can and a breather cover. Then keep the race short and my money is on you!!!

it'll be close for about 200 ft then he'll dust you. of the line you might even take him those 700's don't pull to great out of the hole especially with a stock track, if he had a 1.25 track i'd say you have no chance. I used to race my 98 summit 500 againt 600's and 700's all the time never found one that i couldn't take for 50 ft or so at about 80 mph i was eatin snow dust every time.

In 660 ft or more IMO you don't have a chance.

^^ agree. I think you will get him out of the hole, at about 100ft you will be about even, at 200ft he's gone. When I had my '94 Mach 1, alot of guys with smaller cc's always wanted to line up. With the Mach I would always have them at about 50ft with the ski's in the air. Man, I miss that!!

you should have a chance. i have smoked my dad on his 04 F7 with my 02 ZR500 on packed snow. most sleds can run pretty close on hard snow. where CCs come in is usually in power. so get him on some packed snow and it should be a great race.

Ice is eaven better. The heaver sled will sit and spin eaven with modulationand as you line up stop and look under your sled(actualy you are throwing some sand in front of your track. White beach sand is hard to see on ice.) Did I just say cheat?
