Looking to get an 02 700 XCSP w/ 2068 miles...chassis great condition, but engine in boxes, lol. First time rebuilding snowmobile engine, will be using OEM pistons and most parts if no complete engines out there.

I'll be calling Hildabrand's tomorrow to see what they have, but right now it has an outer crankshaft bearing failure. Crank and case halves good. Toasted bearing, one piston, head and possible jug/cylinder recoating needed. I'll be checking it out on Saturday.

I'm not up to speed on when new sleeves are needed compared to just recoating...any certain depth of damage standard? Both jugs will be done if one toasted...or good set of used one.

Ok I have a chance to buy a 92-94 Indy wedge that has. 98 700 liberty motor with a head on it. ( don't know much about them ( what to look for and problems) ). It has a 144" skid and a new 2 " track on it. . The tunnel is a crs I think with a "u" cooler. 6 " bar risers And some " flexi skis". The guy said the chain case has been " droped and rolled ". WhAt ever that means. He is askin $600 for it and I don't know if it is worth it or just keep saving and buy a newer sled. I have a 92 Indy trail deluxe with a 488 fan cooled motor this sled is a crazy modified to lighten it up as much as possible to make it faster.I got $300 total in the sled I just wants go fast and not sink in the powder Any more

is this a good deal. What should I look for when I go look at it How many miles are too much for that motor. Any and all input will be nice

A friend of mine had this sled sitting out in the weather for at least 12 years. I coned him into trading it to me instead of cash for setting up a wireless home network for him,

So I brought it home, before I started it I removed the fuel tank and flushed it out, removed the carbs and air box and thoroughly cleaning them, I also cleaned out the coolant/oil reservoirs.

After putting it all back together and installing new plugs it fired up second pull. It seems hot or cold it will start every time in the first or second pull with full choke. I made a video to post and see if someone wouldn't mind taking a look to give me some suggestions about how to go about cleaning the outside of the engine. I'm also curious what you guys think about how well it appears to be running, and how well you think the carbs are tuned. I synchronized them by pulling the throttle up so the thing in the carbs raised all the way up, put a finger in each carb and slowly lowered the throttle until both "pistons" in the carbs reached my fingers at the exact same time. For the idle screws I just tried to set them back until I had roughly an 1800RPM Idle. I'm not sure how else to adjust the idle screws. There is also a small ammount of air bubbles in the fuel lines, i'm guessing new fuel lines and clamps will fix this, as they are old, and it's missing a few clamps.

Thanks ahead of time if any of you get a moment to respond.

Hey guys,

not sure how many of you caught my other thread, but i bailed on the arctic cat jag. Sold my turbo, and now i have more money to spend :)

So i found this 1997 Polaris XLT 600.

136 track runs excellent 2600 miles, could use a seat cover and hood has some cracks.

I tried searching the forum and google for a little info on it, but didnt turn up much. I see the 95-96's seem to have lots of motor problems. Crank bearing or something?

So how are the 97's? Did they work the issues out? Any other concerns on this sled, or is it prettty solid?

Guy said he would let me have it for 800 bucks. Blue book on it in my area is 1500. So seems like a good deal to me for my first sled. Let me know your opinons. Thanks for the help!

Hi, I just picked my first polaris last night and it sounds MEAN! Im really excited about it. I have a couple of questions about it. First, I need a low beam light bulb, is there anywhere to order these online? Also the speedometor doesent light up either but does work. The fuel gauge does light up but doesent funtion, stuck on empty. Other than that the sled seems to be flawless. Would having no key cause the fuel gauge to not work? Because the guy lost the key so he just unplugged the ignition and it fires right up first pull. And about where does the clutch grab on these things? Thanks for any replies in advance and sorry about lengthy post!
