I ordered new wear rods for my newly bought powder special 700 cc. I went to Dennis Kirk and ordered a set of Woodys 6" carbides that were for this sled. When I got them I noticed that the wear rod (we used to call them skags when I was a kid, is that still right?) was about 1 3/4" longer and the stud was about that same distance back. All three of the front studs matched, it was just the back one. I called Dennis kirk and they said that I should just drill a new hole in the ski and it should be fine. This sled has plastic skis and there is metal pad that the wear rod bolts through the ski to the metal pad. If I drilled a hole in the ski I would only have three bolts in the metal pad. So, my question is, did I get the right wear rods, or do I have some sort of a modified sled? As well as advice on what to do. Is it ok to go with just three bolt and the one in the ski? Should I have someone cut the bolt off and reweld it on the rod so it fits the ski? Any help on this one would be great.
THanks,

My cougar is not doing to good. I did a jug swap last year, Because it had scratches and the compression was low (65Psi). I replaced the Jug and it went up to 119. It ran great all winter until the last ride of the year. It would be great at start up. 2-3 pulls and it would fire up. The last day it was really diffucult. Ether was needed. When it started and warmed up was ready to go it would bog and backfire a little then it would die.. Only when i'm on the throttle and moving. NOT at a high idle sitting still. It would start up in 2-3 pulls but I needed to choke it to keep it going. Any Ideas, Anybody. Snow is almost here and I want to be ready. Any help would be great. By the way, I always cleaned the carbs and it has fresh plugs. Only Arctic Cat oil, and prem gas is used in all of my machines.

Ok Here is what I have going on. I have a 95 zrt 600 and the lower bearing went out on the crank. I purchased a 99 short block. I see there are a few differences with the years but nothing that looks real crazy. Has anyone done a swap like this just to make sure I get all of the parts from the correct years. I also need to know if there is a way to test the oil pump and make sure it isn't seized. The bottom of the crank cast didn't seem to have any oil on it at all when I took it apart. I plan on using all of the parts from the 95 setup. Like the 2 fuel pumps, stock oil pump, magneto/stator, etc etc. I only got the crank, crank case and rods from the 99 engine so everything else is from the 95. Let me know if there are any other parts from the 99 that will be required for this engine to run and how to properly set the timing.

Hello everyone,
This question may have been asked before but I didn't find anything when I did a search.

I bought a used 1994 Arctic Cat Prowler. I've been able to fix it up and I was checking the bogey wheels in the suspension. I have one idler wheel which has a seized bearing. Do I have to replace the whole wheel or just the bearing and plastic bushing? Are there any good aftermarket part places in Minnesota near the metro area?

Thanks everyone for your help.
