Gang,

Thanks for taking a peek at my post. I made a few noob posts and now I'm about to make another (season is about 3 weeks away!).

The guy I bought my sled from said that he cracked the 1985 Indy Trail hood and replaced it with an Indy 400 hood. He didn't indicate the actual year that the hood came off of, but it looks about the same year. The hood doesn't seem to sit well - it sits back about 2/3"-1" from the nose. It makes the console that hosts the choke and key inset and puts some pressure on the pull start rope. I'm not sure if the gap is due to the wrong hood hinges or due to a mismatch of hood/sled. Is the hood from an Indy 400 and an Indy Trail the same part number? If so, are there different hinges? The hinges look bent, but from looking at other used hinges online, it almost looks like they are either bent as well or maybe they are supposed to be bent. Does anyone have any insight or advice?

Regards,
Thinking to get some for my sled.
