Anti Freeze in one cylinder of Indy 500

I am getting anti freeze in one cylinder of my 97 Indy 500 (Fugi engine). I thought it was the head gasket so I installed a new one. The cylinder, pistons etc looked fine. Compression is perfect, it runs fine but still getting anitfreeze in the cylinder on the mag side. The side closest to the water pump.
Looking for ideas of how this could be occurring? Thanks

Did you do just the head gaskets or did you do the base gaskets as well because if you do one you might as well do both.

I had recently had the cylinders bored, new pistons, rings etc. At that time I installed a complete new gasket kit. The anti freeze in the cylinder started occurring after I did the top end rebuild. I thought I might have screwed up the head gasket, so I replaced it.

The only ways water can get into an Indy500 cylinder are by a blown head gasket or a porous head. You will have to disassemble it and look close. The base gasket poses no problem as there is no water passage between the cylinder and crankcase on the Fuji 500.

You might have a warped head?

From what I can see, with engine in the sled, it does not appear warped. I will remove the engine and disassemble the top end again. I will double check for flatness and search for a hair line crack in the jug. Interesting that compression is good (120PSI) in each cylinder. But this was with engine cold. Maybe there is a hairline crack in the jug that opens when warmed up. If I do not visually see a crack I will do a liquid penetration inspection to search for one. Has anyone reused a head gasket that was just installed and run for 10 minutes?
