polaris driveshaft?

I'm sure the answer is already in these forums somewhere but I'm having trouble figuring out which words to search for.

I have a 2005 fusion that wont move. When the throttle is first pushed it wants to go and starts to move a little. Then it feels and sounds like something all of a sudden just strips out.

The sound seems to come from the around the bottom of the chaincase or lower.

I can lift the track, it spins freely and continues to make a metal on metal noise.

I took video of it but it sounds slightly different in person.

any info to help figure out what this is is appriciated Thanks

Chain is too loose or stretched out due to lack of lube.

Damn! Never ever seen one that dry...

I would put new gears and a new chain on. Prob. a tensioner while I was at it. Also, check the bearings because those have also been ran dry unless they are sealed in which case you would be lucky.

Better check your chaincase as well! Metal on metal is only in that area.

Note: refill to polaris specifications! You won't need much oil in there because the chain does the work of slinging it throughout the case.

I would even go as far as to replace the bearings as well as both sprockets and chain! And about 8oz of oil!
