what spark plug gap`~?

hey all i'm confused on the gapping for 2002 SKI DOO mach z 800cc. the manual says to use NGK BR9ES with a gapping of .018 inches, but i've read on the net that it should be around .030 inches.

What is the correct gapping?

thanks

Plug gap is 0.45mm, 0.018 inches. I have a 600 of the same vintage and same plug. There is a sticker right on the head that gives that gap. I have always run mine with that gap and it runs great.

it's weird because the current gap on it now is about .028 inches. I'm thinking either it's not properly gapped or it wasn't gapped from the new plug package.

Any other thoughts?

thanks!

Nowadays with all the electronic ignition systems, etc .010 won't really make a difference.
