my liquifires won't run (punctuated )

I just bought 2 1980 john deere Liquifire sleds. The guy I bought them from started both sleds on starting fluid for me. They haven't been registered since 92 and started very little since then.I got them home and put new gas tanks on them new fuel lines, rebuilt the fuel pump and went thru the carbs. The sled I am working on still will only run on starting fluid, I could run it all day on it if i wanted it sounds good while it is running. I can see gas from tank to fuel pump solid from pump to carb there is some air in line. Someone told me to check the crankcase seals they would cause a vacum leak so the pump wouldn't pump enough. Anyway any help or ideas would be appreciated. Sorry about the punctuation and spelling thanks

is the fuel getting into the float bowl? Could be that the inlet needle and seat is stuck closed...

Not a good idea to use starting fluid to keep an engine running. Better to use some mixed gas in a squirt bottle.

If you put on the chokes, will the engine stay running?

Don't use starting fluid AT ALL... if you know your way around a sled then you can use a bit in the carbs but too much will go through that engine like acid through skin.

It may be warm weather or poor carb settings.

OK no need for 2 posts just add you second question we'll find you!
Ok on the Kawis there is an Oring on the bottom of the main jets, I've tried to just use common orings with no luck! Get a set of OEM's!
