straight pipe?
hi everyone, this past summer i purchased a brand new 2004 Mountain Cat 900 EFI, i was just wondering if there is anything bad about a straight pipe on it, or any sled. Thanks in advance for your help.
oh, and anyone have trouble with this type of sled, say belts, etc..

Not a good idea, you will lose a lot of power and burn pistons.

YES, do not straight pipe. You will loose back pressure and have a hole in your piston really quick. A can is the best thing if you want noise, but as stated in other threads on here right now, check your State/provincial laws first. It is more widely becoming something of the past I think as alot of places are making them illegal now.

your saying cans are illegal in some states, well i live in Alberta, we don't have any type of law like that. thanks for the help, buddy mine has a 1998 Vmax with 15,000kms never did a thing, but i don't like how heavy it is. good sled overall.

OK, I DID say Provincial laws as well(I am from Ontario, of course i added povinces into my comment as well) Just for your info, it is ILLEGAL in the province of Alberta to have "a muffler system that increases noise, which includes any aftermarket can or pipe that is louder than a stock exhaust"
Just FYI
