CDI troubles

My sled is a 1992 polaris 440 indy. And a fairly common sled I hope. So I hope you guys might have some answers for me, because I have alot of questions. My snowmobile has a little over 2000 miles so it still has alot of wear and tear left in it. I recently rebuilt the carbs and the fuel pump and ran new lines and put a new fuel filter in. This was in an effort to help its poor starting troubles. After that it still would not start and even did not start with starting fluid. Recently I asked a snowmobile guy what he thought my problem was. He said my coil. On my model of sled the CDI and the coil are combined into one device as I believe. I believed him and read up online and the coil seemed to be the problem. So I went on ebay and found a new aftermarket coil for a little over 100 bucks. I bought it and threw it on my sled last night. I pulled it and it fired right up and ran for 2 minutes until I shut it off. Then I started it again not 30 seconds later and then it ran perfectly. I then went about and hour later to start my sled. Nothing...did not run and no avail with starting fluid either. Did my aftermarket CDI take a crap already or is my stator bad or what? Is this common for my sled and if so what is the cure for this anoying cancer?

Those Poo do not like aftermarket CDI/Coil combo.
Best to use OEM.

Get an inline spark tester to see if it has a good spark first. Auto parts stores have them.

yeah well just for kicks I decided to replace my plugs. The old ones did get oiled fouled alot but I always cleaned them and wiped them off. Anyways I threw those in last night and it ran pretty good. Although it did not want to rev much higher than 3 grand? Im running straight carbs right now with no airbox because I was working around that area. But any time I floored it last night it just did not want to rev at all. Anyways thanks for the input guys.

Replace ALL the plugs. Don't screw around with previously fouled ones.
