I have been running polaris race oil in my stock 600rr..One of the best 2 stroke builders that is dialing my sled in for me told me the race oil is overkill.
He suggested that I run a semi synthetic and it would work fine..He said that if my sled had a high strung race engine the polaris race oil would be good but not needed with the stock 600 ho engine..So next season I think I will try the semi oil and save a little cash.

i run the polaris semi synthetic oil in my sleds because that is what the dealer says will work correctly in my sleds as long as the oil meets the specs of the engine man. then it will be just fine to run in and by the way is not as if the oil is staying in a sump or a oil pan its getting burned off anyways its a 2 stroke

Yea that's what I heard also that it gives better fuel economy and less heat and better wear protection

Right here man!
I would use the syn and just turn down the pump a bit! I was running the oil in my 04 Pantera 800 and was consered about how Little oil it used! less than half what the 03 was useing with Interseptor!

From what I have been told, syntetic and dino oils are fully interchangable. Going back and forth is no problem. I would wait until the tank was low and then do a full fill. I have done it a bunch of times on the trail where I could not get synthetic out in the boonies. Never had a problem. I run amsoil 100 to 1 or dominator.

Unless the manufacturer specs out for synthetic only, you CAN switch to or from: full-syn, semi-syn, dino oil without any worry.
Synthetic blends are just that, a blend of dino oil and synthetic.
Summary: Fully interchangeable. It was a myth that was started long ago, unfortunately it is a myth that still lingers.
