I have some pistons that are .010 (.25mm) over stock for a Fuji 488 lc. I have acquired a new used top end that had stock pistons. The cylinders were rough and needed honing. i would love to avoid seizing anything up  Question is how much clearance should I have?
Stock pistons are 72mm and I am looking to use 72.25mm
Thanks!
In general, the clearance varies by engine and whether it is fan or LC.
If I remember correctly, the clearance on the 488 is .005 or so.
So to use the 72.25 pistons you would have to have the bore opened up.
I have had issues with used pistons going back in!
I would take everything to your local Machine Shop, and have them check the pistons for cracks (Magnuflux) and bore the jugs to fit.
And it is good to premix a coupla gallons for the breakin!
