SEG!!!!!!! I need you.

My oil light came on and I drove about a 1/2 mile to a restaurant. Went inside to eat came out checked the oil and it was low but not that bad. I went across the street to a store and bought some more. Put it in. Started the sled up drove about 15 feet and it seized. I rode my wifes back to my house and picked up my truck and trailer. When I got there I was able to pull the rope about a half a pull and it stopped again. I was wondering if the oil injection pump could of gone bad. Whats my chances that my engine is ok. Tomorrow I was going to put some oil down the cylinders.

i think that if you lost oil to the motor you would have lost a bearing before siezing it. if you are able to pull it over a little than it may be something hitting a rotating piece, this happened to my old dirtbike and it turned out to be that a post broke off the clutch basket.

Remove the belt first to take the rest of the drivetrain out of the equation. If, with no belt on, it still won't pull, time to go deeper.....Take out the plugs and get a flashlight to see if you can see into the cylinders for damage. Sounds like one of your cylinders is messed up? If they look good, probably crank bearing.

Just when I thought SEG knew alittle something about snowmobiles he lets me down. SEG, Why didnt you tell me to see if my oil cap was wedged between my belt and clutch.

Hi, My name is Locky and i am the stupidest person in the world.

Well you guessed it. I went outside to start diagnosing the problem. When I opened my hood the first thing I noticed was my oil cap missing so I looked all over and couldnt find it. Oh well I thought I will just get another one. Then I decided to remove the belt which SEG suggested. I tried last night but that damn thing wouldnt move and the wind chill was -10 so I wasnt messing around to long. Well again I tried to remove the belt and wondering what in the world is happening. I really do know how to remove a belt very easily. Thats when I looked and said "holy Sh*T" I actually had a grin from ear to ear. I found my oil cap. Nicely wedged in between the clutch and the belt. I was able to remove it and two pulls on the rope and vroom vroom vroom. There was that sweet smell of 2 stroke. Heres a picture of it. Its kinda fuzzy.

Isn't that where the cap is SUPPOSED to go???? I'm sorry, I should have reminded you to look for a cap wedged in the clutch....Back to school....

Stupidest person in the world might be a little harsh. Besides, I think we certainly see other contenders for that title around here every so often. I certainly wouldn't argue with HAPPIEST person in the world though.

It's so rare when things turn out like this. Enjoy it for as long as you can...
