what I was thinking is to take 1x1x1/8 aluminum angle and put sections every 8-12 inches just on either side of the drive gear holes in like 7inch lengths because I cannot get a heavy cleated track!
Steel? But then I run into weight issues I don't want to overload on weight I will be replacing track next season but will be doing something similar next season
I had an old 197? Snowbug sled that had aluminum TEE bar cleats. They were about 32" long and were used to tie three separate rubber belts together like the old style tracks.
I'll see if I still have pics and post them tonight.
That IS a 2/3rds cleated track! They even hadm a FULL cleated track, but it wouldn't turn! Kinda like a 4 wheeler with a straight axel or an old Honda Oddesy!
The older ones were full width but this was from a newer Snowbug with the split cleats. They found the full 32" cleats would crack in the middle so they just made them that way. Stock cleats were rivetted with an aluminum backer plate. You can see bolted replacements in the pic.
