pick length?

i measureed from the cowling to the track (not top of knobby) and the measurement came to about an inch and a 1/2. now i know i cant run 1' 1/2" picks, but what did i do wrong? how do i know what size to run? should i just run picks that rea the same height as my knobbies?

The picks should be 1/8 inch longer than the track paddles.

remember that the length is measured using the track thickness. So lug height + track thickness+1/8" will be your target length. Also, don't forget tunnel protection.
