1990 polaris trail 488 sterring problem

Hello, Just bought a couple of used sleds last month and went for a good 500 mile tour this weekend. One the way home my wife had problems steering to the right. It could only turn a quater of way. Any ideas on what i should look for? Thanks trevor

Check under the motor for anything that might be caught there or any bent or binding parts.

X2, a nut probably fell off of a tie rod end and it dropped.... still enough to steer but binding up...

That is what I am putting my $$$ on...

well checked it out and could not find anything out of the ordinary. The only thing that i was not able to easily check was the steering rod that goes under the motor. what is the simplest way to look at that with out taking out the motor?

Here's a thought, check that the front shock is not frozen and bottomed.
Happened to me and it sure made it hard to turn to the left.

Use an angled mirror and light to look under the motor. You should also be able to hear a spot where it's hitting.
