1995 XLT SKS 600 Ball Joint / Heim Joint Size

Hi folks!

Surely somebody has figured out a less expensive way to purchase ball joints / heim joints for your steering on Polaris sleds?

I have a 95 Indy XLT SKS 600 that I'd like to tighten up, but Polaris is asking almost $37.00 per ball joint!

1) Anyone know the size of these ball joints?
2) I've found several aftermarket sources, but I'll need to know the size first. Happy to share the link if it works out!

Thanks!

Surely it can't be this easy...

My work was cancelled for the afternoon right after I posted this, so I went out and tinkered for awhile.

Could it be that Polaris has actually used common 3/8 Heim Joints? If so, this will Rock...Polaris dealers have this item priced anywhere from $21.00 to $47.00. Unreal. I am 90% sure i can get a HD joint for about $7.00 from our industrial supplier.

So if anyone has actually read this thread, so far the general dimensions of the joint off this sled are:

3/8 shank and hole (mine is 0.370 but that's close enough
Thread pitch 3/8 x 24 TPI
Heim outside dimensions according to Polaris
1.0 inch wide
2.5 inches long (incl shank)
0.75 high (mine is actually 0.622)

I've found them at tractor part stores before.

Bought 3 LH thread and 3 RH thread from a race shop for $4.00 each. They match what is on the sled. We'll test them out and see how long they last. Even the super high end race ones were only $15.00 each!

Lesson learned.

Good times. They should last just as long as OEM.
