Red face fox shock on my 97 xc 600

Bent my frt fox shock,what is the best route to take repairing it,is there special tools to recharge the gas pressure,can i do this my self or better left to the pro's.

Take it to a shock rebuilder, Special tools are required. Also they can get the parts needed to repair it there is a nitrogen charge of 200psi in the shock if not disassembled correctly, could cause great bodily harm.

you have to replace it if it is bent, it is cheaper than buying all the replacement parts and getting someone with special tools to repair it..they are about $300 in canada

If it's just the shaft that's bent, they're not that expensive. Get a sled shop to rebuild it for you.

when i quoted a shaft replacement on mine, it was $100 and the top seal,$100 and $100 for the labor to repair it. not to mention other parts that may be needed... it was cheaper for me, living in canada to replace it

Yup, just bring it to a shop. You'd have more in the special tools and nitrogen bottle than having somebody else do it.
