Question for my brother

My brother has a 1999 Saab 9-3. Hes been complaining about a noise when he drives from the tires. So I took it for a ride to see if I could figure it out. When you get going over 20mph, theres a wobbling noise, steady and consistent, but doesn't effect the car, just wobbles alot. Everything drives tight, so we think its the rim are bent. The tires are brand new, so its not those, but it sounds like when you drive down the road with a four wheeler, that noise you get when you have those big tires making that noise, vibrating the ride. Do you know what I mean, that feeling of driving on pavement with a 4 wheeler. Thats what it feels like. Maybe wheel bearings?

yes a wheel bearing (most likely)but dont rule out the tires just yet, have seen broken belts in tires lots, even if they are new, a hit just right could cause damage. a bent rim should be easy to spot, as should a broken belt, while he is driving slow, walk BESIDE the car and view the runout of both the tire and rim. could be a bad CV joint

Thanks sledder, just thought I get an idea before we bring her in. Didnt think of the CV joint as one, but that could be it to, we will try that little experiment tomorrow.
