LED Lights

I'm putting some led light tubes on my sled, but I was just wondering if it would work to put them under the tunnel or would they get covered in snow?

What does the underside of your tunnel look like after a day of riding... there's your answer!

Mine's usually pretty clean, because it's a liquid, and the heat keeps it clean.

well my old sled wasn't too bad.

but my new sled i haven't ridden yet. It is liquid cooled so hopefully it will stay clean. I will see what happens I guess because I am going to install them this week!

Good enough. Just remember they're going to take a LOT of abuse under there. They'll get sprayed, sand blasted, and who knows what else - depending on where/what you ride in.

I know the salt and sand they pour on the roads where I live makes even a road crossing hazardous for anything living under the tunnel ...including suspension parts!

I just finshed them tonight and they look great! I have a remote to turn them on and off, and there are 14 different modes (and one of them flickers with the sound of the engine!), and 7 different colors. I tried getting some pictures, but they didn't turn out. I'll go out and try it again.

Did you buy the LED's in a kit or did you build it yourself? I would be interested in buying something to do it.

i got some regular bulb lights behind the vents in my hood...a red one and a purple one....i want to get some brighter n better ones though...it looks sweet from up front but they just arent bright enough...cant seem them against the headlight..makes the engine look sweet though...my sled has the little coolers under the running boards and i thought about putting some led bars under there next to the coolers but havnt yet..i was thinking if i put them next to the coolers they shouldnt get smashed..im worried if i get too many lights on this thing it will rob too much power from the engine....i dont have a battery on mine..any advice??

If you're using LEDS, you can put 100 of them on, and not use hardly any power. Regular filament lamps are another story. Some peanut bulbs would be okay, but lamps like in your tail light draw a few amps. That would add up in a hurry, and you'd be frying out your lighting coil.

Ok, well this first pic is my sled. I was able to get a descent pic from the front, but the ones from the side didn't turn out.

The second pic is what it looks like, but isn't my sled.

Pics deffinatley don't do justice. The lights look way better when you see them for yourself and are much brighter than they appear in the first pic.
