Yea. me either.
Just did it to the first sled because my daughter wanted it.
Now my ex-wife, brother, and friends have it running.

Really adds to visibility at night too.

Have you guys heard of EL Wire? Its about as afordable as LED's and it looks better in my mind. You can either get a 12v step down converter or if you want to keep it simple you can get a removeable AA battery pack.

ELwire is very good for some applications, like clothing, interior cases, and other uses... not so much exposed outdoor use where low profile is important and adhesion is paramount.

Yes, you have a good point. I wasn't ruleing out led's completly im just saying sometimes in the right application el wire can look better, I just love how its all one long smooth line of light compared to led's where you can useally see each individual diode. But i will say led's are much tougher and would definatly hold up better under your running boards.

Just ran a fused circuit right off the battery. Put a switch on the dash.
