Hood Design Idea

Alright. I'v been down for about a month now because of my knee surgery and have been thinking about the upcoming snowmobile season. Its coming, I can smell it. So far I'v come up with a idea of desiging a hood for my '79 Jag 3000 F/C. A see-threw/clear hood. I'd clean up the engine alot, and just pretty much make this sled look pretty sweet. This is pretty much my secondary sled, It was in a wreck around 6 years ago, the reason It got put away. Throttle got stuck and ran off the trail into a tree. Got a new hood, replaced some stuff on it last summer and got it running. Not conserned about keeping this one unmodified.

Of course the hood would have the same scoops and demensions as the orignal, but I think it could be easy enough to do. My grand parents own a factory in town here that designs Ag. Equipment for the farmers in the area. Pretty sure I saw alot of the plastic stuff I'd be looking for.

One concern Im thinking of is: Will the heat mealt the plastic? Or If vented right will it do ok?

Thanks,
Mike

Still wondering If anyone has any thoughts on attempting this. IE: Plastic thickness ect needed. Was thinking less than a qtr inch.

Regular plastic will not hold up to the heat, especially at the exhaust. You're gonna need lexan.
