Indy 500 Question

I kind of want to get rid of it but I can't afford a new one, but I'm kind of a tall guy, and need some handle bar risers, probably 2 inch. Does anyone know if the wires and such would be fine stock, or would I need to get longer throttle cables? Also, I broke my stock windshield off and was looking at a black Cobra windshield with the checker flag style graphics on the side. its a 1999 Polaris Indy 500 RMK, you can see it on Polarisman.com but there are things on mine that have been changed. Red snow flap, red ski tips, red belly pan..

I put a 2 inch riser on my dads xc 500, and he loves it. It's way more comfortable standing up and not being hunched over the front. All the stock cables should be just fine.

SKS..nice

I just don't know how high I should go. 2 or 3 inches. I mean, I'm 6'3 and its a hell of a reach down while standin', not to mention my tunnel is so frickin' narrow i can hardly move my feet back while standing.

I think I'll drop some 2 inchers on the ole girl, I don't want to buy 3 inchers and have my cables not reach, only thing I'm worried about. Are they easy to put on?

it took about 30 mins when I was jammin to tunes and drinking a beer. its definatly easy, all you need is a screw driver and a few wrenches and sockets..

Do you think 3 inch risers would work w/o getting a longer throttle and brake cable?

it worked for me. the reason I went with three is beacuse I wanted the highest I could get without changin any wires, cables, or brake lines. I have three diffrent polaris people say that they got 3 inches without mods. so thats what I did and it worked perfectly. anything over three and it would not have worked.

(I know the carbs are out in this pic, but there was just enought cable to have them work perfectly and not be bent or stressed at all. this is also an aftermarket (a little shorted than stock) throttle cable. so you will be fine with 3 inches.. here is the one I got:

$24.. best $24 EVER SPENT on a sled!

I just don't want the cables to be stretched to far or have to much tension on them.

yea I know what you mean.. if you want to be poisative it will work, put a three inch piece of wood in there just to try it before you order.

I won't order them online, I'll stop at a dealership, get ripped off, but have them when I want them. My buddy picked up a 2 inch riser for like $15 bucks from my nearest dealer, which however, isn't MY dealer. But hey, conveince is a blessing.
