how big are you and what is your riding style? they will both play into your riser height tremendously.

if you go 2" or smaller, you probably wont have to get longer cables.
i didnt feel like messing w/ all that stuff, so thats why i put the 2" on. works great, and i can stand up straighter and when i sit down, its still comfortable. however, im considering taller ones, but thats not on my top 10 list of things to buy.

you can normally get away with up to about 3.5"-4" of riser block before you need to get extensions or new cables. they dont look like theres much play but there are a few zipties that are in there that can be cut and there is actually some slack to work with.

you wont need extensions on a ZR with only a 4" block.
