Instructions for using the E-Z Snowmobile Slide Remover
First, elevate the snowmobile to free spin the track. THINK SAFETY AND MAKE SURE WHATEVER METHOD YOU USE TO LIFT THE SNOWMOBILE IT IS SAFE FOR YOU TO BE WORKING UNDER IT AT ALL TIMES.
At the front end of the track, the nylon slide is attached with a single screw to the aluminum rail. This Phillips screw can be removed with a #2 Phillips screw driver. For those hard to remove screws use an impact Phillips head screw driver with a hammer. Once the screw is out, then place the E-Z Slide Remover tool in your air impact hammer. The E-Z slide remover should be placed on the area where you just removed the screw. Spraying a little lubrication along the length of the slide (WD-40 or PB Blaster) certainly will make pushing the nylon slide out the back end of the track easier.
As the tool moves the nylon slide backward, the track has to be rotated just enough for the nylon slide to exit one of the openings in the track. You continue to push the nylon slide backward moving the E-Z SLIDE from opening to opening in the track.
Once the slide is removed, use the “old slide” as your template to cut your new slide to the proper length. CUT THE MATERIAL OFF THE OPPOSITE END FROM WHERE THE SCREW MOUNTING HOLE IS LOCATED!!! Clean off the snowmobile aluminum rail with a clean cloth prior to mounting the new slide. Follow the replacement slide manufacturer’s suggestions and advice when mounting the new nylon slides. Putting some grease on the removed screw will make it easier to get in and out in the future.

E-Z Snowmobile Slide Remover (patent pending)
This tool is designed to firmly grip the bottom of the nylon slide and push it along the aluminum rail without damaging the rail by cutting through the worn nylon. It is intended to be used with a hand held air impact hammer for the best results. After removing the securing screw holding the nylon slide to the aluminum rail, the “claw face” of the tool attaches itself to the nylon slide.
The air impact hammer puts consistent pressure on the tool which breaks the nylon slide free from the aluminum rail and pushes the slide backward through one of the openings in the track at the rear of the snowmobile. The E-Z SLIDE REMOVER will remove the slide in a fraction of the time of conventional methods.
Purchase price for this tool is $39.45 which includes handling and shipping. We accept checks, Visa or Master Card.
