2000 zrt800 max stud length?

Anyone know what is the longest length studs you can add to a 2000 ZRT800 ? I have the chance to pick up 240 carbide 5/16 studs with about 200 miles on them for a really good price but I am not sure if they are too long. They are 1.175 i believe. I know they were too long for my friends 94 Tcat as they tore up the exchangers.. Will they work 4 me or amd I in for the same fate if I use them?

Studs should be no longer than 1/8 inch above your track cleats. Any longer, they'll tear the track.

It already has fairly new 8inch carbides on it. The studs on it were 1inch I believe. The ones I can buy for amost next to nothing are 1.175's I hate the idea of spending $300 on studs when I can get like new ones for $125 or so. He has 240 of them too.

You would prolly spend the money you save on a new track to fix all the tear outs! It's kinda' like I can get cheap pistons to fit a 600, how can I get them to fit my 500!! IT JUST DON"T WORK!!

If ti doesnt work then how do ice racers shave their tracks to under 1/2" and use 1.175 studs? I know the possible issues and I know the pro's and con's I just wana know if it will clear the exchangers.
