Question 2002 440 Panther Track

I have a 2002 440 acrtic cat panther which currently has a 15 x 136 x .75 track. I'm wondering if I can go with a larger lug such as 1.25 or 1.5 without causing me any trouble?

Thanks alot
Doug

You might get away with a 1.25" lug, but you definitely need to go with smaller driver if you are going to go for a 1.5" lug. That can do damage to your tunnel (Worse if it is studded.) To check for tunnel clearance, compress the rear suspension with the track on, then measure the didstance between the tip of the lug and the end of the tunnel closest to the drivers (Drive Sfaft.) the Minimum amount of distance needed is three-quarter of a inch.

I put a 1.25 on my 2000 Panther 440 last season. Didn't have a problem with clearance at all. It did seem to lose some top end though.
