Studding the sled myself

Well I think I might give it a shot, I mean how bad could I screw up my track ? I'll hope for the best.

I think a couple people on here recomended Stud Boys.

What exactly am I going to need to do it myself and do I need my sled up on a stand or something?

GEt the rear of the sled way off the ground so you can drill it out. You need a special drill bit also, don't use a regular drill bit to do it.

I don't know anyone who has them either, thats why I was wondering. I think I'll stay with the normal ones.

Your also gunna want to get one of those charts that spaces out the holes, that u put down on the track and mark watever holes u want Or u can figure it out som otherway but trust me its alot easier. We have always did our studs ourselves and thats how we did it.
(Hope this Helps)

^a template is a must, but when you buy a kit they usualy send a cheap paper one with the kit, get a very good cordless screwdriver, it takes like 4 batteries to do a hole track,(drilling and studs) this will save you alot of time. also a white marker to mark the holes.

Studs don't add horsepower.....if you want more horsepower, you'll need new decals............

j/k.

Hate to be an A-hole with an answer like that, but it was too tempting!!.

Really, studs will help deliver the horsepower you already have to the snow via increased traction.
