2003 zl600efi fuel pump keeps going bad

My 2003 zl600efi, at 1000 mi, started whistling first indacation that elect fuel pump is going bad, it was replaced, then 350 mi later started whistling again, so it needs another elect fuel pump, these cost $260 each, was wonding if anyone knows of any problems or reasons that would make the fuel pump go bad? It's never ran out of gas, keep 1/2 full tank always. Thanks.

Is the fuel pump still under warranty? Most parts have a 1 year warranty on them. Check to see first.

Check your fuel filter......whistle may be an indication that the pump is working very hard (against a clogged filter). Could be an easy fix!!??

I know someone with EFI's on his AC and he is switching them over to carbs because of the problem.

he tried to mess around with it, right? you need a special efi analizer to find the problem, a quick trip to the dealer will fix it all.
