Question Kimpex Gold shocks any good?

The original shocks on my ZL are shot and need replacing. I was looking at some Kimpex Gold series, and can get a pair of rear shocks for around $120. Are Kimpex Gold as good as the original stock shocks?

I'm looking to get this sled fixed up and ready for next season, without having to mortgage my house for a pair of shocks. Just want it as good as, or better than, original.

Please don't tell me to go buy Fox Shox... unless you're willing to PayPal me sufficient funds to support your suggestion.

Bargain being equal to stock? I have seen un-branded shocks that run about the same as the Kimpex Pro Gold.

Also looked at the Ryde FX series. They're a bit more expensive than Kimpex.

I'm not looking to brag that I have shocks that cost more than my sled is worth... Sure you pay more; you get more: but buying Fox doesn't make any sense to me. I don't ride SnowX, or race, or anything like that. I just ride trails and do some drift-busting. Unless I have a sponsor paying for it - I can't justify buying a $600 shock. I figure I can replace shocks every 3 years and still be cheaper off than buying a high-end rebuildable shock - in the long run.

So, does anybody know if a shock similar to the Kimpex Pro Gold series would last me 3000 miles, like my stock shocks did?

The RydeFx are good shocks, check out Gas-Pro also. Used them in the Mach 1 last year, quite a difference!

when i got my xc i put a kimpex gold in it, and for trail riding it seems to be fine for me. i have no idea how long it will last, i'm assuming not as long as stock shocks would. like you said, you're not racing your just trail riding, i'd say kimpex is fine.

just my .02

I put Kimpex Golds in my '94 Formula Z two years ago. So far, two of them have sheered in half. BTW, this is my wifes sled that she rides 3 to 4 times a year.

Kimpex Golds are crap, don't waste your money.
