2002 Pantera 600 EFI motor questions

I was checking out a 2002 Pantera 600 EFI in the local classified but it has 9600 miles on it. I know a top end rebuild is a must, but with 9600 miles should I be concerned about the bottom end?
How far do these motors go before a complete rebuild is required?

Miles or Km?
As long as it has been well maintained and has good compression, go for it.

I'm assuming it's miles. As far as I know, all Cats from this era showed miles on the odometer, even in Canada. The ad didn't include the odometer reading so I asked and that was the number provided. The seller is a lady, she bought it from her father for her kids to ride, apparently her father bought it new.
As for the motor, I'm just not into doing a major overhaul right now, I can do the top end for just under $300 and a few hours of my time which I'm okay with.
The other thing that may be a ticking time bomb is the stator, I've read many posts about stator failures, particularly on on the EFI motors.
Anyway, I think I'll at least go and see it and make a decision then.
