2000 thundercat overheat/coolant loss problem

My thundercat overheated on the way back from a trip and upon stopping, the coolant bottle cap was off and antifreeze blown everywhere.
I replaced the thermostat thinking it was stuck, refilled antifreeze and after about 10-15 min of idling, coolant starts coming out of the overflow hose on the coolant bottle. I have a new coolant bottle cap on order.

Any other ideas on troubleshooting?

Thanks

Doug

are your heat exchangers warming up? if their not it could be your water pump or belt(pump belt not drive belt :P) warm it up and put your hand on the exchangers. Also may have to bleed your air out by jacking up the front end and idling with the coolant cap off to get the air out.

Thanks alot. running it up a snowbank, running with the radiator cap must have done the trick. Exchangers are warm and it's not belching out antifreeze from the overflow!!
