Finally got enough snow today to at least take sleds out for a shake down my indy ran great my cat started out being quite bogie and sluggish for about 1 mile or so then seemed to come out of it nicely. I am guessing old crap gas left overs i the line till it cleared up then it took off like someone rubbed turpintine on its back side

went maybe 6 miles down and turned around came back home happy with everything put er into reverse to back in the barn and poof shut down Now pull and nada. I am suspecting my battery is about crap due to no fuel pump when turning the key on but not sure if this thing will run with either a internally shorted batt. or none at all I have not checked for plug spark As 3 am come to early to mess with it tonight Wanting more snow now cause what little my son and I rode was fantastic. Any insight on this issue most apprecated Thanks

Well not knowing what we are working on here, a cat efi I believe?
Did you empty out the fuel tank and start with fresh?
Have yiou checked the plugs?
Perhaps add some Sea Foam with fresh prem!
On the other sled did you clean the carbs as well as new fuel?

My bad Yes the cat efi 98 EXT 580. pumped out fuel both sleds seafoam to both as well as a shot of star tron. new plugs both sleds the indy ran awesome no issues at all
the Cat was a tad grumpy at 1st as I said I think it was just leftover crap gas in the lines those I had not drained out it cleared up after about 4 mins of being a grouch then ran fantastic (this is only second time on this sled for me) no bogging or flat spots. Just dropped dead in the door yard (nice place to break down) when I put it in reverse went back about 3 feet then acted like I shut the key off As mentioned I think the battery is crap. Big question's I guess would be A: if the battery is junk might it have that type of effect and B: Will it run if I dissconect the battery Thanks

98 is batteryless efi, does not require ther to even be a battery. You have one because you also have Estart.
You did'nt happen to hit the kill button by accident did you?

Thank you Was not sure if one was needed to run fuel pump etc. 1st thing I checked when it died was kill thinking I hit it while trying to back up. Problem solved I took out the batt. and now runs like it should thanks again. Estart not a issue
