I have a chance to pickup a '91 ext 550 for cheap as it does not have a spark. Is there a common electrical problem on these units? Are they a reliable motor? What would you guys pay for it? As it looks in the pics, everything is in good shape and only 2900 miles.

How cheap?
Most likely just a TTS issue and the 550 motor is a good one.

I had one of those exact sleds. When it had a spark problem, it was invariably the tether switch. I replaced the tether switch and never had another spark problem.

If I remember correctly, you can get a rewound one from Blain1 for around $150./

The 550 is the little bro to the 580! No issues with stators. Likely just in one of the kills! Try to get it for a coupla hundred or so!
