Presure test or Compression test?
A presure test would be block off plates and be to test the seals of the motor!

Sorry, compression test, to test each cylinder. Also I got the sled started on 2nd pull, so whatever was causing the high idle I must have resolved.

Off subject but where's a common place to take shocks for rebuild, and cost/durability compaired to replacing new for around $100

Rebuilding usually costs close to new unless you find a good deal on someone who does it. Not usually worth rebuilding unless they are high end shocks. Opinion

Standard fox rebuilds are $30... A cheap non-OEM is going to be over $100.

top end kits

I can get spi piston/top end kit for $200, wiseco for $223, or oem $255, who's got opinions?

also... is it a good idea to do anything else, like crank shaft oil seal ect, that's easy to do when doing a top end

Re: 98 arctic cat zr600 efi starting/running issues

It would b a great idea to put new seals in if you got it tore down. I have two 98 zr 600 one with 8000+ miles with no rebuild and the other with 6000+ wih one if your in there do it all

I'd go wiseco, and always give the sled a proper warmup...

If you do anything past the top end, you have to pull the motor and split the case. Not a bad idea, but also 10x more work. Just doing the top end is a 2 hour job at most.

Actually, I would recommend the SPI kit over Weisco due to the fact that they are a cast rather than forged and will be more forgiving to the person who may occasionally forget to provide sufficient warm up time,

update

hey guys, I pulled the cylinders out, and if recall from testing I posted before they were 84psi and 90 psi and ive got to say everything looks really good yet, sleeves and pistons look great surprisingly, should I just get replacement gaskets and piston rings and call it done?

As long as the pistons do not show signs of skirt damage/wear, use them again.

yea they look pretty good, nice and smooth. can the rings alone be that much of a problem to where I was only getting 84 and 90 psi? or combined with gaskets possibly leaking

Just use some of the same oil that you put in the oil tank.

personally I would run a deglazing hone on the cylinders before you put it back together. this will help the rings to seat better.

Dump a bit of oil down into the cyls. And pull it over until it is covering the whole wall.

What's a deglazing hone? Is that a job for a machine shop?

ok, I understand what it is now, and I can just use my cordless drill which is 1400 rpm, now should I be using a 3 in hone brush or a bit bigger for the factory 78mm bore?
