'95 Pantera 580 EFI 2up... What should I know

Ok, I have found a guy that is potentially looking at trading me my Indy 500 for a '95 Pantera 580 EFI 2up. Is there any issues I should be looking for with this sled? EFI quirks? I have never owned/ridden an EFI sled, so I am curious about the maintenance on them. It has 4100 miles and the only thing I feel is odd about it is that it has no decals on the hood other than the warning and informational decals around the dash. Your input is appreciated.

Hey man! I have a 95 Pantera and I loved it so much I bought 2 more!
About the only issue is the 580 will need new pistons, and the new pistons will have coated skirts! As for the EFI I wouldn't buy anything else!

I expected to hear from you! Does it need a top end at that mileage? How about power? Will it keep up with my buddy's 600 twin? What do you think the value is on this rig?

If it hasn't already been done then YES! Yes it will keep up with a 600 but don't expect to drag race him! Mine will run 100! I real nice condition it should be worth $1800?

He is asking $1400 or trade. Right now, he wants my sled and $500, which is out of the question, so the bartering begins. I would do sled and maybe $100.

Find out how new the battery is too as you will likely have to replace that if it is more than 2 years old.

Well, once again a trade deal falls through. He dodged my calls for a day and finally answered his phone this afternoon and said he that he thought the evolved chassis was ugly and he would have a hard time moving it up there (Houghton Lake), so the deal was off. Oh well, I still have my sled and beauty is in the eye of the beholder!!
