1994 EXT 580 Carb Question

I bought an old EXT that would not run. I swapped out the carbs and it started up just great there are two slight differences between the book and the carbs:

The Needle is 6DH8 the manual says 6DH8-3
The Needle Jet is a 480 P-3 the manual says 480 P-4

This thing runs good for a short time then bogs out. Could this be the issue?
Are these differences a big deal?
Thanks,
Brad

Hi again!!!
I took my old carbs apart I found a 480 p-2 Needle Jet in it. can someone tell me the difference between the 480 P-2 P-3 and P-4?

should I try the 480 P-2 even though it should have a P-3?

Thanks,
Brad

Why would you swap the carbs? Just clean the originals!

I had never seen worn out carbs until I got this sled. The valves (plungers) were totally worn. The chrome was non existent. The groves in the needles no longer held the e clips. I got new carbs for cheap off of eBay. Brand new genuine mikunis for $75.00 a piece. In hind site, I should have got a bunch of them.

Thank
You for your help.

All my jets are new.

Just in case anyone comes across this this thread and is asking the same question:

The needle valve (obviously) affects the amount of fuel to the engine. The higher the number, the richer the air/fuel ratio. Arctic cat says a P3 for my sled in the manual. They recommend a P0 for altitudes above 20,000 feet. I have one on order. I am also looking at ordering new weights and spring for my primary. I'll keep you posted.
