95 Arctic Cat ZR700 Spark Issues

Well the title says it all. My Arctic Cat does not have spark. I searched the issue and bypassed the kill and the Throttle safety and the tether as well. Still nothing. I then turned my attention to the cdi box, the single bulleted conector leading to the box needs to be grounded correct? So I ran a jumper wire from that connector on the box to the frame on the sled. When I did that I got spark. So my question is this, does this mean that the box is bad? Stator? Switch? The sled will start and run well with a ground jumped to the box. What am I missing?

I assume that since the sled will run well with the jumper wire on the box that the stator is working as it should. When I have the jumper wire on the sled I cannot shut the sled off with the key switch, so it must be connected to that circut somehow.

Any help would be appreciated.

I beleive it is black but I would have to check again to be sure. So you beleive that the single wire is for the kill switch, which does make sense. I will check and ask some more questions tomorrow.

NOt sure which wire you are referring to....there is a ground wire for both the stator and the cdi box. Is the one on th eCDI box broken off and then you grounded it?

Well there is a small black wire coming out of tge cdi unit. It connects to a wire that looks as though it goes into the stator shroud.

Ok is there 2 other wires some where in the harness that are cut? If you hook them together what do you get?

As far as I can see there are no cut wires. I have taken apart the main connectors and have cleaned them. I just ordered a service manual on it so hopefully I will be able to make better sense on the wiring system.
