99 zrt 600 steering issues

I have a 99 zrt 600 that i picked up towards the end of ridding season last year. We have just now started getting everything ready for this season, but we are kind of confused with the steering. the steering seemed to be really tight so i got new bushing for the steering post. we changed the steering post bushing and still is pretty tight. Does any one know what the torque is supposed to be for the bolts on the clamps?

We also found out after it was unhooked from the front drag link that they were tight moving as well. has anyone changed the bushing in the front end where the two tie rods meet on the drag link? looks like they are going to be a pain didnt know if anyone else has run into the same issue? I am thinking that changing all the bushings and tie rod ends should make a difference.

Start by unhooking the tie rod ends from the spindals. See where it is tight! Usually they are loose! I bet the spindals have never been greased! Start there!

We have checked them and they take grease and are loose when not hooked to the tie rod. Im thinking it has to do with the bushing on the drag link in the frame. I also have looked at the part fiche, and turns out that Cat has changed those bushings year after year with the zrts up until the 00 model. which then has the same as the tcats and zl's. i'm wandering if over time Cat had got better materials and the newer ones are better and they should fit cause all the other parts are the same.

Sounds likely! Usually they are loose!
